Küçükçekmece City Near the Istanbul Canal: Discover Its Highlights
Küçükçekmece is located on the European side of Istanbul, surrounded by the districts of Başakşehir, Bağcılar, Bahçelievler, and Bakırköy. It is considered one of the most important areas of Istanbul.
The city offers a variety of tourist attractions, such as the Küçükçekmece Beach, which is open to the public, Yarımburgaz Cave, Kavaklı Amusement Park, Sefaköy Cultural Center, Mehmet Arsay Museum of Classic Cars, and Florya Atatürk Palace, now a museum.
Küçükçekmece also includes significant commercial and industrial centers, along with Küçükçekmece Lake, located 15 km west of Istanbul, covering an area of 14 km². It is a natural lagoon connected to the Sea of Marmara.
From this lake, the new Istanbul Canal extends to the Sazlıdere Dam, then to the village of Şamlar, and finally reaches the Black Sea. It runs parallel to the Bosphorus, 30 km away. The foundation stone for its first bridge was laid on June 26, with the attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Sazlıdere River, the most important river in Istanbul, flows into Küçükçekmece Lake, collecting waters from smaller basins south of Dursun village.
As for housing, the area offers numerous residential options with luxurious standards and a strategic location close to commercial, service, and entertainment hubs.
